Neuropsychological assessment is a specialized clinical process that studies brain function by analyzing behavior and applying standardized tests. Its goal is to identify potential cognitive, emotional, and behavioral changes that impact your learning, professional life, or quality of life.

 

What is it for?

The assessment helps:

Understand difficulties such as inattention, forgetfulness, impulsivity, or poor performance

Help diagnose neurological, cognitive, or emotional disorders

Support academic, therapeutic, clinical, or family decisions

Differentiate normal aging-related changes from clinical conditions

Produce technical reports for schools, physicians, psychologists, or legal purposes

Target Audience

The assessment is indicated for:

Children with learning difficulties, suspected ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, among others

Adolescents and adults with attention, memory, anxiety, or organizational complaints

Elderly adults with cognitive impairment or suspected dementia

How does the process work?
The process is structured into steps:

Initial interview (anamnesis) – understanding the patient's history and complaints

3 to 4 test application sessions – assessment of attention, memory, reasoning, language, executive functions, visuoconstructive functions, intellectual and emotional aspects

Detailed analysis of results

Feedback session – clear explanations, submission of the report, and advice for next steps

Total duration: between 4 and 6 sessions (depending on the case)
